There's no business like snow business! British entrepreneur makes a fortune by creating special ice rooms for £180,000 DUBAI

  • Ben Elliott-Scott, 37, from Bath, set up his business Desert Snow in 2012
  • His machines can produce 1,000 cubic metres of snow in less than 24hours
  • The snow making business has proved popular with Dubai's wealthy elite
  • Most of the city's 2.4million residents have never experienced snowfall

  • A British entrepreneur has found unlikely business success in Dubai by charging wealthy residents up to £180,000 for their own private 'snow rooms'.

Temperatures in the Gulf rarely slip below 24C and most of Dubai's 2.4million residents have never experienced snow.

But with cash to burn, rich locals are building their own snow rooms or hosting temporary ice parties so they can impress friends with snowmen and snowball fights.
